We are counting down to the final day of our World Refugee Day campaign with staff interviews, starting with Director of Programs, Abbey Reed.

Q: Why do you love working at ABQ FaithWorks Collaborative?
A: I love the creativity and ingenuity that all our staff bring to the office daily. I also love working with a group of people who care about all people. It is a constant reminder of the importance of seeing the dignity in every person.
Q: What was one time you felt proud of how a client overcame hardship?
A: We had a client who had to overcome every obstacle you could imagine, and through every barrier, they could secure a job and housing and take the next steps forward. They demonstrate great resiliency, tenacity, and perseverance. I admire our clients greatly.
Q: What do you see as the most common need of the clients we serve?
A: It's hard to pick out one as the most important, but one I feel quite passionate about is the ability to supply resources to rural communities and the Pueblos. I have heard several times from people in need of assistance in rural communities around New Mexico say, "I've been told if I need help, I need to move to Albuquerque or Las Cruces." I hope that we can continue to work with the different counties in New Mexico to provide assistance for people no matter where they live in New Mexico.
